KICK Cream is a commonly prescribed compounded cream for muscle pain and inflammation. Apply 1/2-1 gram of medication per localized area 2-3 times daily as needed for pain relief. 

Orally, amitriptyline is used to treat migraines, nerve pain, and depression. Topical amitriptyline is used to treat neuropathic pain and is associated with less systemic side effects when compared to oral use. It also has anti-histamine effects which can help with pruritus (itchy skin), a common side effect of shingles.

Baclofen is a muscle relaxant traditionally used for the systemic treatment of spasticity (muscle spasms). Topical application of baclofen can help reduce localized pain while decreasing the side effects when compared to oral baclofen. 

Camphor is a mild pain reliever and typically combined with menthol. Camphor and menthol topical is a combination medicine used to relieve minor muscle or joint pain.

Clonidine is an α2-adrenergic receptor agonist that is used for the treatment of hypertension. Clinical research shows that when used topically, clonidine has potent topical analgesic effects.

Cyclobenzaprine is a muscle relaxant traditionally taken orally for treatment of muscle spasticity. When taken orally, cyclobenzaprine has many side effects including dizziness and drowsiness. Topical application of cyclobenzaprine helps provide localized reduction in pain and muscle spasticity with minimal side effects. 

Diazepam is used for muscle spasms and can help reduce vaginal/pelvic tension. Warning: the DEA classifies diazepam as a Schedule IVcontrolled substance due to increased risk of physical dependence.

Diclofenac is used topically to reduce localized pain and inflammation.

Gabapentin is used topically to help with neuropathic pain.

Ibuprofen is used topically to reduce localized pain and inflammation.

Lidocaine is used topically to reduce pain. When applied directly to the skin, lidocaine has an onset of approximately 4 minutes. Intranasal lidocaine can be considered a useful option for patients with an acute migraine. It yields a high success rate, a low pain intensity, an infrequent need for rescue medicine, and tolerable adverse events.

When used topically, ketamine is an anaesthetic used in the management of neuropathic pain and complex regional pain syndrome.

Warning: the DEA classifies ketamine as a Schedule III controlled substance due to increased risk of physical dependence.

Menthol causes the skin to feel cool and then warm which helps decrease aches/pains deeper in your muscles and joints. The cooling effect of menthol is also used to temporarily relieve dermatitis and bug bites.

Topically, piroxicam is used to decrease localized pain and inflammation. Topical piroxicam has less severe side effects when compared to oral piroxicam. 

Tetracaine is a long-acting local anesthetic, used topically to reduce pain and discomfort. It works by blocking nerve signals in your body. Tetracaine may take up to 15 minutes before onset of action. The duration of pain relief is longer than either lidocaine or prilocaine (typically 2-3 hours).
